Our Team
We tailor our resources to meet the individual needs of the patient and the client.
Transcare’s patient care team pride themselves on achieving the highest standards of passenger care and all have extensive experience within the care sector.
We have both full and part time crew members available. All are trained to lift passengers from their rooms and into the ambulance and on to their destination. We offer a fully insured, genuinely door-to-door service.
Our teams have first aid training, PATS training and PCA training with the Ambulance teams also being trained to administer oxygen if necessary. Continual training is provided through our in house training facility and in partnership with Bradford NHS Teaching Hospitals.
We provide experienced drivers for each transfer, whether that is for ambulance, stretcher or wheelchair transfers (when the need arises additional crew members are provided).
To comply with regulations for stretcher or wheelchair transfers, or if the passenger needs lifting, any escort must be suitably qualified. The escort can be supplied by the customer or provided by ourselves.
Our priority at all times is our passengers’ comfort and peace of mind. Transcare’s aim to is to supply a level of service that not only meets but exceeds expectations.
Transcare staff work closely with healthcare providers and individual clinics, to build a complete transport package for patients. Where possible PTS staff are assigned ‘dedicated’ vehicles and routes, helping to ensure patients benefit from the security of a familiar crew, that understand their individual needs.
PTS personnel are fully uniformed in order to be readily identifiable to patients and hospital staff and carry identification at all times. All our staff have passed enhanced CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checks.
Our Fleet
Our vehicles are equipped and maintained to the highest standard.
Our fleet operates a daily service for hospital appointments and admissions, transfer of the elderly and infirm, nursing home transfers, home to school transport, home to school transport for the mentally/physically disabled, insurance companies, solicitors, and Social Services contracts.
Transcare’s fleet of vehicles are regularly inspected, serviced and maintained to the highest standards. The fleet is adapted to suit specialist needs and includes: ambulances (equipped for non emergency passenger transfers and able to accommodate chair-bound, walking or stretcher patients), Toyota Hiace, Ford Tourneo, Mercedes Vito, Citroen Dispatches, Citroen Berlingo and Peugeot Partners.
The PTS vehicles on the fleet are configured to meet both NHS Trusts and their patient’s needs, ranging from Citroen Berlingo (up to seven seater people carriers for the more able patient) to multi purpose full size ambulances. We comply with the standards set by the British Ambulance Association.
Our PTS Response Units are on standby 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and can be activated within 1 hour. Each journey is planned and the progress of the vehicles monitored from the head office.
